T1-28 : THRILLER PROJECT 2007/8

Feedback from our own class

-Missing shots worked well
-Photoframe shot was good when it was still then started moving
-Police sirens/radios were good and the statistics spoken
-One of our titles was 'Based on a true story' - different and effective
-Pretty clear what it is about
-Laughing at the beginning abit too unclear and maybe too much of it
-More like a trailer - with loads of bits and pieces involved
-Could have not as much stuff in it
-Narration needs to be cut out

T1-28 : THRILLER PROJECT 2007/8

final feedback

Questions we asked:
1.Do you understand whats happening?
Most of the people we asked answered yes, they understood it was based on three girls that go missing and that it may be a carry on of the last girl.
2.What are any improvments?
One group were confused about the suspects and which one could have been the killer. some didnt like the close up of the mouth at the end and think the scream could have been cut out to leave the final girl talking. It was also commented that too may flashes were used and there were not enough location shots. The title could also have been smaller.
3.What worked well?
The voice overs especially at the end and the photoframe shot was effective. The suspect pictures and missing shots worked really well especially with the girl talking over at the end.
background noises worked well, girl talking at the end carried it on.
4.What didnt work well?
Titles too big.
5.What is/isnt effective with the sound?
Fits really well with the whole feel of the piece. real voices and sirens used were clear end effective. fits well and effective.
6.Any further questions?
How did you do the voice overs?

Feedback on Final video

-How does the film use genre conventions?
It has Murder!!! Killers good.

-Can you catergorise the film opening into sub genre?
Slasher

-Could the film pass for professional work and why?
Possibly, it's good but sound needs sorting out

-What do you think will happen in the rest of the film?
Person will come after her, will either find her friends or see them dead, will kill person or die

-How does the music create atmosphere? Does it do it effectively?
Radios and sirens good, the talking explains the story, think you have should of stopped at last line - no scream

-Mise-en-scene
The mixture of props such as the missing pictures, maps, mug shots etc, really give this an authentic feel. Also think the use of black and white footage is indicative of events that have happened in the past, which is effective and relevant for what it is about. The laughing does detract from the quality of the piece a little bit, but other digetic sounds such as the siren and screams worked well.
